I'm Dreamin...

What's the heck is going on?!!

Ack - it's raining here in Minnesota and it's December 12! On Thursday the high is supposed to be 47 - AND, the forecast doesn't show the possibility of snow for at least another week! I mean come on... the icon for Saturday shows leaves blowing around for Pete's sakes. We don't do blowing leaves here in December.

At this rate, we're closing in on the record for the furthest date into December without a measurable snowfall on the ground. I know you warm weather folks are used to it, but around here we expect a Bing Crosby-style White Christmas, not a "Soggy, Foggy, Drizzly, Sloppy Brown Christmas" - which by the way makes for a terrible song.

Now I know how the polar bears feel - but without all that pesky drowning and starving and possible extinction.

Perhaps we should revert back to the glacier days in Minnesota. Why did the polar bears have to come along and melt the ice? All kidding aside, why are the oil producers burning off their surplus natural gas around the world. They are doing one heck of a job poluting and also heating up the world?

Yup. If you don;t beleive in global warming, you don;t live in Minnesota. The first few years I lived there, It was bang! - winter on November 1st. Lakes were able to take auto traffic by Christmas. No sign of warmth until May.

The last few years, people could barely go ice fishing.

Sounds like it's continuing.

On the positive side, You can still go roller-blading!

We had our snowfall too early this year...and it's looooong gone.

I kind of enjoy those snow days since it really isn't usually necessary that we go anywhere (except Craig of course and I always worry about him too.)

But you know, it IS Minnesota! There's always the chance for snow!

Our weather in Oklahoma is weird, also. My daughter put up Christmas lights on November 27 and we were under a tornado warning, that's late even for our standards. Three days later we got 10 inches of snow. WTH?

It's a little hard to get into the spirit of the Cookie Exchange when you have to have the air conditioner on full blast to accomidate holiday sweaters and a roaring fireplace.

But then again, I'm not driving a Hybrid either....

We're going north this weekend in hopes of a glimpse of snow, but even Duluth is listing 40s. Grrr!!!

Um, you just described Seattle at Christmas time. But we had our snow a couple of weeks ago and a teensy bit forecast for this weekend. Weird!
