Our Family Valentine

Sure, Valentines Day is supposed to be for lovers and sweethearts - that's the way Hallmark intended it. But around here we like to make it a family event.

Like this morning, for example - when my daughter needed to dress in red, white and pink for school... I helped spray her hair pink.

Or this evening, when my wife made a beautiful prime rib dinner and laid it all out on the floor in front of the fireplace for a family picnic.

And if that wasn't yummy enough - she also prepared a plate of these insanely delicious treats!

Now that's love!

So yeah, we don't need some Hallmark holiday to tell us when to show our love for each other in our family. That's a given that's proven every day around here.

But sometimes, it's nice to have an excuse just to do something a little different...

and nice.

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

You said it! Randy took me and Jess to lunch for VD and I grilled him steaks (outside) for dinner. And it was one degree wind chill. Now that's love. Miss R is adorable!

Ahh, what a dad to do that for a daughter! And Happy belated V-Day to you too! Your wife rocks in my book!

We did the family thing, too. I bought flowers for LA Mommy and a bear for LA Toddler (although, she was convinced the flowers were for her, too.)

Nothin' better than hearing your daughter say, "Happy Balentime's Day!" And I'm sure my days of pink hair painting are coming soon enough...

That is a great event. My son went over to his grilfriend's house, so my wife and I got to go out for dinner and a movie.
