Storm of the century!

Technically the meteorologists were right I suppose - considering the century is only 7 years old.

Granted, it was no "Halloween of '91" by any means but it was still a nice frosting to a dreadfully brown winter.

Here's the before picture...

And here's the after picture, just 24 hours later...

Not too bad - about 13" when it was all said and done. But still, nothing like snowstorms used to be when I was a kid.
In fact, come to think of it - ever since Al Gore invented global warming there hasn't been a good one since.

The one thing I could have done without this weekend though is all the trips past my house by the snowplow. In fact, I'm heading out there right now for the 4th time since it stopped snowing to undo all the snow they have pushed back into my driveway and sidewalk openings.

But I guess I don't have the right to complain. A quick page down to only 4 days ago will find me saying, "
That's why I'm excited for some snow to fall already."

Hey, I said I was excited for it to fall - not be pushed into my driveway. Four times.

Why is every storm the 'storm of the century' or some other such gloom and doom catchy name? 13" is a lot of snow, I grant you - especially when it keeps getting dumped back into the driveway - but mind blowing? I think not.

It is purty to look at, though...

Wanna trade the snow storm for the hurricane of the centry we always get here in Florida?

at least you get to use a snow blower and not shovel by hand ughh. I would hate that.

To bad I am wearing flip flops today is 70degree weather. It feels great but I dread the summer.

Holy snow storm Batman! That's a lot of snow alright. We just got a dusting of 2 inches, and it's already a nuisance. I know, don't you hate it when the snow plow pushed the snow way back into your drive way?! Ugh!!

Maggots schmaggots. I can't count the times I wrecked my back shoveling out that snow the plows piled up after I'd already shoveled. And when they plow it into your driveway, it takes on the consistency of concrete. That purty fluffy white crap weighs tons.

Big deal. That's a light flurry for us this year. Of course, then there's upstate NY.

We have grass now....I smell spring. Stay warm.

Greetings from Upstate NY. It is currently 30, and of course, you guessed - SNOWING! Again. How much we're to get this time around? Who knows! I am happy for you that you finaly got your little storm; it's always great to get one in. then comes two and three and they don't stop; that's where the fun ends. I'm ready for the flip flops! Can't wait to smell spring. At least we have the Flower and Garden show to look forward to this weekend. (As we trudge thru another snowbank)

We got snow too--Sat night--and it's still snowing today-Monday- and is supposed to keep snowing until next Sat!!! We made it to church Sunday even tho we got 12 inches overnight (the plow went by and Dad snowblowed the driveway) and there was only about 25 or 30 people there including the choir members that made it. All Dad's done is snowblow for 2 days, and mister "good-guy" went down the street and did 2 neighbors driveways too!!! Just like you--from bare grass to being buried in 1 day. Lotsa fun!!!

Suggestion: can you park vehicles in front of the walks and drives? Of course then you would have to dig out your vehicles.

We got 4 inches from 10 am to 2 pm and then my son and I shoveled the drive and had a snowball fight.

School was delayed for two hours and now it's mostly melted.

Not the storm of the century, but more like the perfect storm. Happened on a weekend and didn't bother anybody.

Yeah, remember you asked for it.

We got about the same and are supposedly getting another foot or so by friday night. We'll see.

I'd like summer to come now.

I rent, so fortunately it's not really my problem when the snow plow pushes everything back into the driveway.

Unfortunately, it IS partially my problem when the snow plow takes out the mailbox (which happens EVERY time it snows).
