My New Baby!

Ok, it's not exactly a newborn, but it's still new to me.

Long-time readers may remember my previous bike. That old timer was a rare collector's item that unfortunately had seen its day. For the last 6 months it's been sitting in my garage collecting dust because it wasn't running anymore.

Then just the other day, a guy who had seen it last year gave me a call and asked me if I wanted to trade it even up for this bike. He let me drive it for a week before I had to decide but I was sold after the first 10 minutes. This bike rides smooth, has tons of horsepower and, as you can see, is in VERY nice condition.

My brother may not agree (he thinks I should have held on to the old one), but I think I made a good trade. And after our 300 mile trip together this last weekend I'm even more convinced.

And, if my wonderful luck doesn't bring rain every day for the rest of the summer - I just may get the chance to ride it!

I just liked the old bike because I became sentimentally attached to it when I took my first ride out to the west coast. I'm funny like that. Your new bike is probably better.

C'est magnifique!

Sorry....still in French mode!

Real bikers ride in the rain. Hurts! But they do.

Say, that's a nice bike.

rick - Yeah, you old sentimental fool you.

hilly - merci beaucoup !

gale - You know that 300 mile ride I referred to in the post? Yeah, the whole thing was in the rain. I guess that makes me a real biker!

mooselet - Thanks, I think so too :-)

Congratulations! Bike looks great and I'm fairly certain that it's comfortable and fast(plus no chain to lube)! Couldn't ask for more from a motorcycle.

Hey Jeff, now you'll even better with your geek shirt AND your bike pulling up to Hooters!

greg - Thanks! My thoughts exactly.

deborah - Maybe I should start a motorcycle club for geeks. Hmmm, sounds like a naming contest waiting to happen.

How nice to get bugs in your teeth again.

I love, and I mean LOVE motorcycles. Mr. Coffee says no. Darn it.

Sweet. Looks like one I had in college. I can't get one now because I want to be able to tell my kids they're too dangerous.

I was going to say that I wish I could like bikes, but I don't want to even say that. I'm not a fan of motorcycles, never have been never will be. Odd, to just about everyone in my immediate family has or has had one. I'm sure yours is really nice.

I am like rick, I hang onto things because of sentimental value. Hey, is that an oil spot under that bike?? Yikes....just kidding

Now that you have an updated bike, are you going to have to change your biker waves? Is this a question for Mr. Know It All?

Jeff said...

emma - Well then I guess Mr. Coffee doesn't need to have one then. I say it's your turn to taste some of those bugs!

diesel - Hey, what's wrong with being a hypocrite like the rest of us riders?

carla - That's ok,bikes aren't for everybody. Just the cool people. ;-)

doozie - Naw, it couldn't be an oil stain. I never put any oil in it.
WAIT!...

mom thumb - We could ask Mr. KIA, but I know what he's going to say... On second thought, yeah - let's find out.
