Midweek Mish-Mash

First off - a big shout-out to National Walk Like an Egyptian Day!

Today is the day when everyone is being asked to walk like an Egyptian, which is ironic because I've been walking this way ever since I hurt my back last weekend.

Unfortunately, I seem to be the only one in the spirit of this thing. Oh well.

And speaking of hurting my back, I was surprised that no one mentioned the reference to the title of my last post. Come on folks, I only get clever so often here - let's acknowledge these moments when we are blessed with them.

Finally, my old friend Jennine was kind enough to videotape this little dance routine of me and my wife. I love that she took the time out of her crankin busy schedule to do this for us. I'll bet you didn't know we were dancers huh?

In case you're wondering - she's not actually taller than me, she's wearing heels.

Oh, and guess what? We've submitted this to America's Got Talent - so keep your fingers crossed for us!

Believe me, I got the reference to the title of your last post. The rest of the day I couldn't get that song out of my head. Love the dance. Charli is really good, but I think that's just your head on the guy dancer. Just saying.

Who sang "Backstabbers anyway"? Was it Earth Wind & Fire?

mom - I know what you mean. I've had that stupid song in my head for 3 days now. But hey, it was a pretty cool song, you have to admit.

rick - Coincidentally, it was done by the O'Jays, which is ironic for way too many reasons.

chase - Wha-huh? You mean?... Are you saying?... Could it be - I possibly have it mixed up? Perhaps it's Walk Like a Pirate Day. Is that possible?

dan - Uh, hold on while I consult my pirate dictionary...

a-vast: verb (imperative) Nautical.
(used as a command to stop or cease): Avast heaving!

Thanks - I'm good now.

Wow, I was walking like an Egyptian last week. I am SO ahead of my time!

The Egyptian walk evolved into a popular dance where shoeless couples perform on hot desert sand. The trick is to "Keep the beat, with two hot feet"!

I agree with Chase. Or I made a fool of myself all day for no reason. Not that that's anything new.

No no no... it was Walk Like An Egyptian Whilst Talking Like A Pirate Day. Get it straight, will ya?

ve - I was talking like an Egyptian after I hurt my back. You should have seen the little birds and snakes and sphinxes flying out of my mouth!

bill - Ain't that neat!

yello - Don't worry about it, we're all used to it ;-)

mooselet - Do you think there were any Egyptian pirates? I mean they had boats and parrots in those days didn't they?

You got it all wrong. The reason no one else is walking like an Egyptian is because its not "Walk Like an Egyptian Day." September 19th is "Talk Like a Pirate Day."

You are a fantastic dancer. BTW, I hope I'm not being to forward when I say that your wife has some great legs.

I danced like that on my wedding night in front of all the guests.

Such a shame that its was 1983 and the DJ was playing something by Duran Duran.

I have not danced since.

You dance quite well for a man with a bad back, but I didn't see the white mans' overbite that most guys do.

Jeff said...

b.m. - Rrrrrg matey, now ya tell me!

mitch - You know it. Us Scandinavians really know how to tear up the dance floor.

whit - No, you would have been too forward if you said I had some great legs.

gary - Sounds like your Reflex made you Notorious for acting like a Wild Boy at your Union of the Snake. But were you Hungry Like a Wolf during the reception?

carla - Normally yes, but I had my overbite corrected with orthodontics when I was a kid.

I like the little picture with the knife stabbing, I think you're finally getting to the point where you are ready to be my apprentice as we delve into the fine art of stabbing

doozer - I actually thought about you when I chose that picture. Feel free to take it, and consider it a gift from me.
(p.s. nice avatar - no one will ever suspect a thing. shhh)
