Bits o' Bleh

I've just successfully wasted an entire day intentionally doing something to make sure you wouldn't notice.

Makes sense to me.

Because I'm that last person on the planet to move off of the "classic blogger" template, I finally bit the bullet and recreated my blog in the "new blogger" version instead. AND - I took great pains to make sure you wouldn't be able to tell the difference (like this blog is so hard to recreate).

Thank you all for your awesome feedback on the whole hybrid car issue. I've got tons to chew on now and I will make note of all your input as I continue to do my research for a new used car.

* * * * *

So what are the rest of us who don't watch college basketball supposed to do every night when our favorite crappy crime shows and David Letterman aren't on?

* * * * *

I got a haircut today. And my ears trimmed as well.

* * * * *

It's March friggen 30th and we still have snow on the ground. I just want our pond to melt to see if our fish-cicles survived.

Coming up next: Another entry from the Lost Diaries

No your not, I am. And I'm not going to move! They can't make me! (can they?)

I recently moved off the classic blogger template and redesigned my blog, too. Although mine does look a lot different than before, it looks a lot simpler than it actually was.

I'm just doing the bloghoppers' thing tonight and found you.

I go the barber every week for a shave, and this week she actually waxed my ears. Sigh.

Michelle said...

Uhhh, nope you're not the last person. Quite simply because I didn't even know there were different templates or a new version. I'm such a newbie! Someday, I'll start to figure it all out.

I'm with you on the snow. We still have some snow here, too, although it's *almost* all gone. I actually bit the bullets and had landscapers out today to give me a quote to redo everything. Fortunately, I have some time to get used to the idea of writing that check since the ground's too frozen. Let's hope the world warms up soon!

I moved off the "classic blogger" template some time ago. By moving off Blogger. I have enough bugs to swat in my apartment without the ones provided by Google.

As for college basketball, you could move to Hawai‘i. The games are all over long before sunset.

Ain't nothin' quite like listening to "all night" radio during the evening rush hour, I tell you.

elizabeth - Yes, they can. Just like they made up move to Blogger Beta without asking.

ashley - Thanks for stopping by!

avitable - At least she didn't ask how you wanted them styled.

michelle - Ooh, a big landscaping project. Sounds like fun :-)

amoeba - I don't need TV scheduling as an excuse to move to Hawaii. But I should probably at least visit there first before I make any quick decisions.

You went through all that trouble, and yet told us anyway? Well, I wouldn't have known otherwise!

Is that why the blogosphere has been so quiet? I'm still catching up on my DVR list!

I still have the original most boring blog template ever. I really need to do something about that. Cheer up, March is almost over and the cagers will go away.

Congrats on the haircut!

That's funny. I just got done shaving my ears. It must be genetic. If I didn't, I'd look like a tall hobbit.

Jeff and Charli Lee said...

april - What would be the point of doing all that work if I didn't whine about it?

mom thumb - Actually, my template is a non-template. If you notice, I've stripped away everything but a header image - so technically that makes my template the most boring.

rick - Ya, with our without ear hair ;-)

Watch a DVD but in, my house I am stuck as basketball is on for weeks. However I do plan on watching the underdogs, Davidson beat Kansas (one can hope).

If you have Showtime, The Tudors season 2 starts at 10pm. Great raunchy historical (sorta) drama.

Yep, the snow sucks and we are getting more...oh joy!

BTW, that Minnesota Blogger thing sounds cool but I think in my case the mystery is most of the fun. (Really, I'm just kinda shy.)

As you can tell, I love to tinkle with my blog templete on a semi-regular basis. I like what I have right now though so I thinks I will stick with it for a while. Which means I will have to find some other blog to screw up... I mean, make beautiful.

I was wondering the same thing about the basketball on tv.

I play with the widgets too much. Had to take down a blogroll because it was bogging a couple of my readers. I had the same sort of time sink experience trying to figure out how to host and play that m4a.

Congrats on your move to new Blogger. Now can we get you to come over to WordPress?

I got my hair cut on Friday and threw in an eyebrow wax. My stylist apologized that she didn't have her special glasses to do my brows. She can't see very well up close without them. I let her wax me anyway. Now I have half of one brow left. (Just kidding).

Oh, I'm still on classic blogger, and I've been contemplating doing what you did. Ugh. I've been putting it off. I'm considering a new look, though, so maybe I'll wait till I decide for sure on that.

Your "new" blog template looks terrific! I wouldn't have noticed a thing. ;-)

Nuh Uh Uh... I'M still on classic blogger. I tried, oh yes I did, but got scared and went back to tried and true. I guess I'm a classic girl through and through... although, come to think of it, I never really did go for that classic coke deal... although, come to think of THAT, isn't regular coke really just classic coke anyway, and come to think of THAT, I don't drink regular anyway, I drink diet, which makes me wonder if TAB is the original DIET classic coke? And then forget it anyway, cuz I'm trying to stay away from diet coke.

windyridge - I'm lucky (I guess) that my kids aren't big sports fans, so our TV is never on for things like that. Austin spends all his spare time outside skateboarding and so far that hasn't made it to the tube yet.

sexy - I found this
web site recently. I had no idea there were so many MN blogs! I submitted my name for inclusion... maybe you should too.

heather - Yeah, wassup with that?

gette - Yes... the widget feature is a big plus with the new template. I still have a lot of learning (and time wasting) to do there.

kathy - Sorry, but you're move to Wordpress scared the crap out of me. I can only handle so much trauma in one year.

groovy mom - *blush* Awww, thanks. I'm so flattered you hardly noticed!

manic mom - This was my 3rd attempt at going over. I gave up the first 2 times because I'm a weenie. I finally created a fake test blog just to use as a design playground. After I got it right over there I exported that template, converted my real blog and then reimported the one from the fake template. Then I had a Diet Coke.

I'm still on classic Blogger. Too many things to update.

But I should probably at least visit there first before I make any quick decisions.

Absoflippinlutely, Jeff. Sure looks nice from the icebox in February. But bein' here is diff'rent strokes, man. $4 for a gallon of gas, $6 for a Big Mac meal, a cool grand a month for a tarpaper shack to throw down your sleeping bag in (not that you'll need one), and the most corrupt and inefficient government bureaucracy this side of the Daley machine. And the place could secede from the Union and restore the Hawai‘ian monarchy any time now.

When I changed my template I worked for two days to get one simple link to work properly. I'd love to direct you to it--but I gave up. It's not there.

Your new template looks great--I think.

Maureen said...

You moved up? Never woulda known unless you whined, er told us about it. ;) Which is good.

Everything looks good! I moved some time ago and love the ease of it....

And yes, we still have snow too.

MYM said...

Wow ... I joined blogger in August and didn't know there was an old blogger. How long has this new blogger been new?

Memarie Lane said...

Those hours most y'all spend slumped in front of a TV are the ones I spend blogging. Life without TV can be a wonderful thing.

Ed said...

It was a pain in the butt to move to the new version but I do like it better. I can add sidebar things much easier.

Jeff and Charli Lee said...

yellojkt - Exactly. That's why it took me 3 tries before I bit the bullet and did it.

amoeba - I was actually in Honolulu for a week in '81. I vividly remember being blown away by how expensive things were there. And I was only trying to buy gum!

ed - I had some weird problems with links too. It didn't take any of the code I tried to put in the widgits for dropdown boxes. I'm still trying to figure out how to roll up my blogroll into a dropdown.

maureen - And now we're getting more right at this moment! Expecting 4-6" before it's all done. Sheesh.

drowsey monkey - I don't remember exactly when, but it switched over to Blogger Beta (new Blogger) sometime in '06.

marie - I agree. We watch like 2 shows a week if we're lucky. Otherwise, our TV is rarely on.

VE - Yeah, I like the sidebar stuff too. But like I said, where's the option to create dropdown boxes? Eh?

Whit said...

I'm on the old one too. I'm afraid to lose my bells and whistles.

And here I thought I was the last person! Thanks for letting me win on that one.
