Projects and Pain

Remember last week when I said this?

Yeah, well I wasn't kidding. I'm pretty much investing every spare minute I have into this project so if you're wondering where I've been...

Then today I woke up with some bizarre bug that took me down for the whole day. Sore muscles and skin, a queasy stomach and a headache that felt like someone was stabbing my eyeballs from behind with an icepick. Fortunately, I'm pretty much back to normal tonight. But holy son of a crap... this was one miserable day!

So say hi to everyone else out there for me. I've been taking a poke around my feed reader but haven't had time to stop by and say hi.

Just curious though... is it just me or have you noticed that are other people are in a bit of a blogging lull these days too?

Aw, sorry to hear you were sick; there is a lot of that going around. Yes, the blogosphere HAS been quiet lately. Maybe Spring Fever has hit and everyone is out in the Real World (whatever that is, types the person who is surfing on a Friday night). Feel better.

Earlier this week I wrote a post titled "The Lull.". So, yes, I agree!

Hey, I've kept to my regular posting schedule! (Okay, my posts lately have pretty much sucked, but at least I have put the words on the screen...)

But yes, it seems that other people are slacking a bit. Must be spring fever...

Your Signs of Spring blog on March 14th had pictures of a muddy and sloppy yard. Why not show bloggers a few pictures of the beautiful yard your wife grows each summer, for filler?

Glad you are feeling better, that sounds nasty. Yeah, it's a very lull-y time of year around here, also.

Oh, sorry to hear you are under the weather.
Feel better soon !

Lull? I don't believe in lulls. Fantastical Nonsense is going full steam ahead...it just doesn't know where.

Oh hey, your first image on this post shows as a red x on my browser...

maureen - Is that what I had... Spring Fever? I had no idea you could get a headache from it.

idaho dad - Heh... I saw that. Maybe that's why the term came to mind.

theresa b. - I've been trying to maintain a regular posting schedule but lately I can't seem to keep up. Slacking is a good name for it.

bill - Filler? I don't do filler. I just write posts that say I don't have anything to write about, but I certainly don't post filler.

mom thumb - It was very nasty. Luckily I spent the whole day lulling around in bed.

jaffer - I am already. It was a very quick sick.

ve - Thanks for the heads up. I don't know why the picture disappeared but I republished the post and it seems to be there now. Whatever.

Glad you're feeling better, and yes, I have noticed a definite lull. I even wrote a non-post post :O)

I'm completely lulled

Glad to read it's moved on. Sounded like you were down for the count.

Yeah, lull city. I've been having such a hard time writing lately. I hate when I get to the 4th or 5th day without a new post. Not a fun spot to be in.

Bummer that you were sick. There certainly has been a lot of that going around, hasn't there? Glad it was only a one day thing for you!

And yes, there is a lull. But that's good for me because that means I have less to be behind on!

I'm beginning to think we're never going to be healthy here again. Just when I thought we might be better, the baby started barfing today. Good times.

I like it when other people have a blogging lull. I have less to read without the guilt.

...And I hope that their readers come to my blog to read!

I hit the sack too, for a few days---I had a 104 temp--went to the Dr. and found out I had a bladder infection. He prescribed Sulfa --is that how you spell it?---and I got better. Knocked me low, tho, for almost a week. Phew!!!!

I've been in a funk too and busy with this and that so behind in my blog reading and blog writing too. So I can relate.

That said, we miss you. With apologies (or not) to others out there, there's a lot of crap out there in the blogosphere, and you're one of the few bright spots. Please come back soon. :)

babs - A non-post post is only a non-post post is you don't post it.

dan - Don't worry Dan... it happens to many men your age.

kathy - I've just learned to let it pass and not worry about it. After nearly 4 years of this, I'm confident people will wait for my return.

michelle - There's been way too much sick going around. My whole family went through terrible colds the last few weeks that lingered on for days. Fortunately, I only had a 12 hour virus. Yay?

heather - You can always count on the little kids to keep you in puke.

mom - Ouch! So sorry to hear about your fever. You should tell us about these things so we can call you and tell you how we don't have time to come up and see you. On second thought.

unfinished rambler - Hey... that was a really nice thing to say. Thank you! :-)

Blogging lull, reading of blogs lull and commenting on blogs read lull.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Looks like a lot of fun though. Really.

So i just saw your comment on Kathy's lurking post. I lurk here to you know.... but now i guess i'm going to have to start commenting again. Darn, there goes all my study time.

roger - I've been thinking about your basement project as I've been doing mine, knowing that I'm not the only one engulfed in a project like this. We'll have to compare before/after stories when we're done.

sarah - Hey, if you're studying instead of commenting on blogs, that's ok by me! (said the dad who has 2 high school boys who never get their homework done) ;-)

Avitable said...

It seems to ebb and flow. As it gets closer to April 15th, I think it slows down and then will pick back up again afterwards.

Sarah said...

thing is, i'd so much rather comment on blogs than study! I don't study all that much anyways, one of the perks of being a music major, all of my studying is really just practice :)

I don't have the flu...but my spring seasonal allergies have hit full-force!

Jeff said...

avitable - So you're saying that our economy is affecting our blogging too? This has to stop!

sarah - Hey, I was a music major (piano performance) when I was your age too. And you're right... except for some of the generals, it was easy-peasy.

jacki - I'm one of the lucky ones who never had to suffer from allergies. But I know that it's a major hassle for those who do. :-(
