I'm back... and you didn't even know I was gone

No time for a formal post right this second, but I wanted to give you a quick update on what I've been up to the last week or so.

First of all, I still haven't heard if I've been selected for the job yet or not. According to some other people I know who work for this organization, they apparently have a long hiring decision process and it can take several weeks until they notify the candidates. So until I hear either yay or neigh, I'm just going to be patient.

I the meantime, we just spent a glorious week in CO celebrating a long-planned and long overdue vacation - AND our 20th wedding anniversary. We originally weren't even going to go if I didn't get this job because we knew it was going to be expensive and I didn't want to have to deal with a large vacation bill if I was going to be unemployed. But then at the very last second we said "what the hell, let's do it!" and last week we rented a big ol' minivan and loaded up the kids and headed out west for one of the best vacations I've ever had. We chose Colorado because that's where Charli and I spent our honeymoon 20 years ago and we've been dying to go back ever since. Oh, and trust me, you'll be hearing all about it next week.

But right now everything is good and I just need to sleep after driving non-stop for 2 days.

And thank you again for checking on me. It was really sweet to come home to all the emails and comments. You guys are the best. :-)

How wonderful that you got to have an impromptu vacation you really enjoyed.
We all need more of those in our lives.

Even if it involves renting a mini-van. :)

Sweet dreams.

Awesome! I waved as we passed St. Cloud on I94 twice this week... now I know why you didn't wave back ;)

Can't wait to hear more about your trip! Fingers still crossed here (which is making it damn hard to type).

I love anniversary vacations. They seem to be more fun for some reason. Maybe it's the part where our daughter doesn't go with us....

When Kurt was interviewed at IBM, he waited several weeks before he heard back. When he finally got the call, I thought it was a prank. I'd just assumed they forgotten about us.

So don't sweat it okay? It will all work out for the best.

We went to Colorado last year with the family, and we felt the same way (best trip ever!). Happy Anniversary.

Colorado is a great state. So many things to do here. Hard NOT to have a good time. Well, unless you don't like sunshine, clean air, mountains and all that outdoorsy stuff...

How are the pigs? Did they miss you? Or did they not even know you were gone? :-)

Pat,
'll answer the pig question: they are fine, they were cared for by a neighbor girl who we always take care of her evil bunny, no seriously her bunny barks and bites. She is great with animals which is why Evil Bunny does fine with her so the pigs are fine BUT they have not stopped squeaking for treats!! They hear anything and "weeeekkkk" so they are getting lots of treats!

Congrats and Happy Anniversary.

Wow, I've got a wallet and a few t-shirts that are twenty years old. No relationships. You are officially now a role model.

Why do I have the urge to sing a John Denver song right now?

Welcome back. Next time I need a driver for a two day drive; you're my man!

You'll hear soon, I'm sure and welcome back and ... um... can you fill me in about these pigs? I thought I knew you, but apparently not.
