janna - You know, they say you're not supposed to eat all kinds of things, but all 3 of my kids have/had braces and I never saw any of them not eat whatever they wanted. I think Myth Busters should look into that.

elizabeth - Oddly, he didn't seem too fazed by it. Either did his girlfriend. Kids, I tell ya.

leeuna - I know, those pictures are virtually one and the same. I wear bifocals though so I was able to spot a few of the differences.

ve - Thanks for the Billy Ray info. I suppose I could have looked it up, but that would have required some clicks and keystrokes, and who has time for that. And about that spear thing... did you ever see the movie The Omen? Yikes!

I've never worn braces but I imagine it must be a real nuisance at times.
Especially when the person wants to eat messy gloppy stuff like cheese or fudge... or stuff that gets mashed into the crevices, like potato chips or Doritos.
So it must be a HUGE relief to finally be done with all that hassle. :)

In hindsight, mine came off after tow years, right after my dad dies, and coincidentally when we couldn't pay for them anymore. The teeth are better, but far from "right."
